The final challenge for the Panfurly Shield by Wanganui has created interest, Mid a. big crowd is expected at Athletic P.arfc to-day. P. W. Parker, who played at the Park last season as the speedy Treutham three-quarter, is playing for Wangaiuii. The Wellington team is as already published. Captain A. E. Neilson lias Ijoeii selected as referee. ' His Excellency the Governor-General is expected to attend, also the Mayor, Ministers .of the Crown, Sir Joseph "Wanl,' Sir James - Carroll, and the Hon. Arthur Myers and Mr. T. M. Wilford. The cur-tain-raiser is tho semi-final of the Senior Cadet tournament, between 39th/40th Co. and 21st. Co.-(Mr. H. P. Larway, referee). ' SHIPPING COMPANIES' MATCH. Fifteen of tho following players will represent the Union Company against Combined Shipping Companies to-day.— M'Miilan. Scott, Coruniek, Gibson, Hill, Taylor, C. S. Smith, Wylic, W. Smith, Edwards, Norton, Barber, dimming, Williamson. Pollock, Mackley, and Andrews. The Natone will leavo the wliarf at 2.30 p.m. for Seatoun, and will return after tho match. In tho evening a smoke concert will be held at Dustin's. Mr. A. H. Kitching is secretary of tho committee.
