AN APPEAL TO THE COLONIES

Sir.-In the.. Groat War Perth and Perthshire have -lost many of their bray-' est. and best. ■ While local memorials aro being provided in-many parts of the.shire, it has been thought fitting that in the county town there should be.ono memorial of an important and representative nature. It has.therefore been, arranged to proceed with .the restoration of the Church r)i St. John tlus Baptist, Perth—one of the finest churches, in Scotland. This grand old building dates from the fifteenth century, or .even earlier, but for many years it has .been .. disfigured through being divided into three separate churches—somo of-.them containing unsightly galleries. It is desired, by by a careful restoration, to give back to Ihe building Miiitthing of its ancient grandeur, and to place in the church a roll <>f I ho. city and county men who have fallen.
