PAEKAKARIKI V. JOHNSONVILLE,
An inter-club match was played on Saturday between teams representing Paekakariki and Johnsonville. The weather was perfect, and the quality of the .light all that a golfer could desire. The course was in good order, and the greens were fairly fast, notwithstanding the rain which fell during the morning. Several of the games were keenly contested, and after a hard-fought battle Johnsonville won by one game. Upham (Paekakariki) beat Kirker, sen. (Johnsonville), 2 up; W. Wallis (Johnsonville) boat Boyes (Paekakariki), i and 2; E. Uphani (Paekakariki) beat Kirker, jiin. (Johnsonville). 1 up; Pollen (Johnsonville) and Brien (Paekakariki), all square) Andrew (Johnsonville) and Hirschberg (Paekakariki), all square.
