Mr. William Wade, one of the earliest members of Colchester Volunteer Corps, who has died at Colchester, joined tho Army Servico Corps four years ago, at the ago of 58. lie was 11 direct descendant of William Wnde, the Mayor of Tntagol, Cornwall, in 1756, and of Henry Wade, who settled in tho county in 1327. ■ "His greatest pride was that he helped to keep his country freo," are the words inscribed on tho old volunteer's coffin-plate.
