THE TEMPORARY RESERVE LISTARRANGEMENTS FOR FINAL DISPOSAL An official notice in General Orders states.that the policy which lias previously been adopted in regard to the posting of officers from the Expeditionary Force to tho Territorial Force is Hie. ponded. Officers of tho Territorial Force holding a higher status in the Expeditionary Force who, after March 25, 1919, aro struck off the strength of the latter force, will be temporarily posted to a reserve list, and they will retain on that list as temporary, tho ranks attained by them on active service. This temporary reserve list will be Tegarded ae a "suspense" list from which officers will subsequently be posted as follow: (a) Actiro List, Territorial Force; (l>) Reserve cr Officers; (c) Retired List.
Officers considered unsuitable for service in the Territorial Force and those desiring the termination of their commissions, will bo struck off the strength of the temporary R-oserve List, and'be retired or otherwise disposed of according to circumstances.
It is the intention to accommodate officers from the Expeditionary Force in the Territorial Force with the ranks they gained on active service in eo far as the interests of the service will per. Mit, but a general allotment of officers from the Expeditionary Force unite will not be possible until demobilisation has further progressed. ■ It is intended to afford officers already struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force tlie same benefits as are accorded to officers t struck off the strength of the-N.Z. Expeditionary Force after March 25, 1919, but in order to avoid the confusion of existing Territorial gradation lists officers already struck off tho strength of the Expeditionary Force prior to or on March 25, 1919, will retain their last gazetted ranks until such time as a comprehensive reorganisation can be effectedi These latter-mentioned officers have their Expeditionary Force ranks recorded in a epeoial list in the Army List, and this list will bo taken into consideration in any subsequent reorganisation which -takes place.
Officers who, after March 25, 1919, are gazetted from the N.Z. Expeditionary Force to the temporary Reserve List may,' at the discretion of district commander* and Territorial commanding officers, take up duty with their original Territorial units, and they will bo credited with mush service (is if the same were performed whilst they were on the Active List.
