THE COAL TRADE
OFFICIAL INVESTIGATION COMPLETED. The Board of Trade has concluded its inquiry into the coal trade, and is now engaged in analysing the information that has been gathered. A .report will be prepared later for presentation to the Government. ' ■ ' The board has investigated the handling of the coal from the pit to the home of the consumer, and the report will present prices and costs in detail. It is expected- to suggest means of improving the machinery of distribution and possibly reducing the retail price.
