A bottle of nitric aeid was found in the accused's room. Continuing, the detective said that the charge, was a serious one, and bail, should not be allowed, or if allowed the amount should be substantial. Mr. Willis said that it would be proved that the letters received by Collins were not in the handwriting-of the accused. Bail was fixed at and one surety <of .£IOO, or two of .£SO each.
