DEMOBILISATION OF GERMAN FLEET SHIPS USELESS OWING TO NEGLECT By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright , London, January 10. The demobilisation of German warships at Kiel and Wilhelmshaven has been practically completed, but only after sovwo pressure upon tho enemy, who professed a variety of obstacles to tho carrying out of the terms of the armistice. The demobilisation is thorough, and includes the removal of the guns; but the ships already virtually useless owing to their deterioration from neglect. Tho Baden has arrived at Scapa Flow, and sixteen submarines will surrender next week. The Allied Naval Commissions visited Heligoland, but found nothing exceptional.—Aus.N.Z. Caljlo Assn. .
SURRENDERED AIRCRAFT TO BE USED FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES. London, January 10. It is reported the Allies intend'using the surrendered Zeppelins and aeroplanes for commercial purposes.—Aus.N.Z. Gable Assn. PERIOD OF THE ARMISTICE PROLONGATION BEYOND JANUARY 17 NOT APPROVED. (Rec. January 13, 7.20 p.m.) London, January 11. A German wireless meesago states: "Marshal Focli telegraphs that the Armistice Commission for the Allies does not approve of the prolongation of the armistice agreement beyond January 17. The Allied and German plenipotentiar- , ies will therefore meet on January 14 at Treves and come to a new agreement regarding the prolongation.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
CHARGE AGAINST THE ITALIANS OF OCCUPYING JUGO-SLAV TERRITORY. . New York, January 12. The New York "Evening Globe's" Paris- correspondent states that the Jngo-Slavs are preparing to issue a Red Book, which will charge the Italians -with having violated tho terms of the armistice by occupying purely Jugo-Slav territories and pulling down the Jugo-Slav flags.—Aus.-N.Z.
