A FALLING BAROMETER
The weather outlook is gloomy, according to the Government Meteorologist's forecast. Indications, lie says, arc for strong and variable winds, but nurtherlies prevailing soon, and increasing strong to fale with a falling barometor everywhere. The weather is expected to become cloudy, unsettled, and boisterous, with rain following ' generally.
The Trentham Dominion, art union, which had won tho ready support of the public just, before the epidemic, had to have its operations postponed for some weeks. The committee, however, is now to work again, and it is intouded that every effort shall be innde to raise as nnich money as possible for the education of cliildron of soliders and sailors who have fought and suffered in tho war. The prizes total about £6300 in value, and tickets aro on sale in many shops in Welly.stoii. A largo announcement appears in this issue.
