FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for strong southerly winds and cool changeable weather, with passing showers, especially in tho East Coast district. BaromUcr riee everywhere. A storm centre passed in tho south early on Wednesday morning, and high westerly winds have since ohanged to southerly in and southward of Cook Strait.
