DEATHS IN THE CHIEF CENTRES. By Telegraph-Press Association. Ohristchurch,, December 19. The Hon. G. W. Russell stated to-day that the R*gistrair-G«neral had supplied the following figures showing the deaths from influenza or pneumonia following influenza in the chief centres from October 1 to December 17:— Auckland 1021 Wellington 55.1 Ohristchurch 46C Dumedin 304 Total 2315 The Minister 13 unable to supply the figures concerning the country districts. CASES ON MOTUIHI ISLAND. Auckland, December 18. Mrs. Browning, wife of Lieutenant E. J. Browning, who was a voluntary worker during the epidemic, has died at the Quarantine Station. Sister Bailsford is still dangerously ill. There are fourteen cases in hospital on the island, one of which is dangerous.
