PRICE OF FISH

. FISHERMEN'S UNION COMPLAINS. Mr. Herbert Barnsley, secretary of the Northern Fishermen's Union, has forwarded the following telegram fo the Right Hon. W. F. Massey: "My'union request me to notify the Minister to the effect that 100 dozen of Kaipara mullet consigned on November 11, Municipal Fist Market, when put up to auction were bought back by the market at sd. per dozen. The retail price of mullet on that and subsequent days was 6d, each. The contention is that a serious form of exploitation existing at such n critical time like the present warrants immediate investigation."' The following reply was received from the Prime Minister: "Your telegram re retail price of 100 dozen of mullet signed from Kaipara to Municipal Fish Market at Auckland received. Members' of the Board of Trnde are proceeding to Auckland immediately in connection with other business, and will make investigation."
