MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Mr. F. V. Frazer, S.M.. presided 'at the Magistrate's Court on Saturday, ahd dealt with the police cases. ' Pov insobriety three first offenders were each finoil 10s., the amount of their bail. John Finn, a seafaring man, was sentenced to fourteen days' imprisonment for resisting a constable while in the execution of his duty, for damaging' a constable's helmet, for being drunk, and for committing a breach of his prohibition order. He was also ordered to pay lie. Gd., the cost of tho damaged 'helmet.
A lad nineteen years of age namedBasil Underwood Howell, who was recently discharged from camp, was charged with being an idle and disorderly person, in that he possessed insufficient lawful means of support. When the lad left camp he went to his home, and was told lie was not wanted there. He had done no work since, and had been wandering about the city. He was remanded .for a week for medical treatment.
Kellie Jane Robson, a young married woman,.pleaded guilty to five charges of theft of apparel, including a fur necklet valued at JiG 10s. All the stolen articles had been' recovered. The Jlagistrate admitted her to probation for twelve months conditionally on her slaying with Mrs. Glover, of the Salvation Army.
