THE SESSION
FURTHER ADJOURNMENT POSSIBLE. At least ten members-of the House of Representatives are suffering from influenza at the present time, and probably as many more have gone to their homes wring to the illness of members of their families. It is expected that the House will bo a thin one when it meets to-morrow. Some members are desirous of n further adjournment, and representations on the point have been made to tho Prime Minister. This adjournment may prove to be necessary. The difficulty in tho way of an adjournment is that Mr. Massey and Sir Joseph Ward must leave quickly if they are to attend the Peneo Conference as tlin representatives of New Zealand. The suggestion has been made that they,! should go, and leave the remaining' eleven members of the Ministry and the House to deal with the business of tho session. But it is understood that this idea do?e not commend itself to the party leaders. ' There is talk in tho lobbies of n vigorous protest if Ministers attempt to rush the important work of tho session or seek additional power to do tilings by regulation instead of by. legislation.
