Soldiers are deserting in large bodies aid pillaging in the interior. Count Ti6za has been assassinated. Ihe Government has handed over the Austro-Hnngarian, fleet to the Southern Slav Council. At the front the military debacle is spreading, right along the line froin the Trentino to the PiaTe. The total number of prisoners taken by the British and Italians stated to be now over 80,000, with enormous booty, the value of which runs into milliards. The Allies are pressing the retreating enemy hard, and the Italian cavalry is advancing on the Tagliamentd River. In'the West the'A Hies are at present developing three important offensives on a large scale. Tho Canadians have tg&en A alenciennes. In Serbia the Allies have reached Belgrade, and the Germans have recalled, their troops to the north bank of the Danube. The situation in Germany is one of intense anxiety. "Vorwaerts" says that Germany will have to swallow the Allies' terms, however hard they may be. The agitation against the Kaiser is spreading all over the country. Dr. Liebkuecht, the Socialist leader (recently released from prison), evoked thunderous * cheerfi from an enormous crowd in reply to his challenge: "Down with, the Hohenzollerns!"
