Napier, October 28. The Napier branch of the amalgamated .Society of Kaihvay Servants passed u motion condemning tho Minister of Education for limiting tho number of pupils for junior and national scholarships. The branch also supported the eiiyiue-iiriveirs, firemen's, and cleanors' demands for better wages and conditions. ■ [Referring to the alme telegram, tho Hon. J. A. Hanan said th?,t, us he had already explained, tho circular that had been sent out by the Education Depart r ment was sent with a view to guidance, and was not to bo (regarded as a prohibitive restriction.]
