BAPTIST CONFERENCE
The annual meetings of.'the Baptist Union were continued yesterday at the Vivian Street Baptist Church. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr. M. P. W. Laeeelles, of Timaru; /icepresident, Rev. H. fiercus, of Hamilton; secretary, Rev.. 11. t. Gray, of Dunedin;-financial.secretary, liev. Al- , fred North; treasurer, Mr. W. Lambourne; secretary Finance .Committee, Mr. G. 0. Gfarlick; preacher of union sermon, llev. H. E. Edridge, of Hastings ; convener of Studente' Committee, Rev. W. S. Rollings; missionary seoratary, Rev. fl. Jenkins, of W.auganui; missionary treasurer, Mr. 0.- Cathie; preacher of missionary sermon, Kov. li'. H. IL Kempton, of Auckland; convener of Board of Introduction end Advice, Rov. E. Dallaston, of Dunedin; editor of "N.Z. Baptist," Rev. J. J. Nprth, of Christchurch; business Manager of the "N.Z. Baptist," llev. W. of Auckland; committee, Revs. H. K. Kerapton, W. H. Hinton, 11. Builey, A. Anstice, L. B. BusfioM,. S. Bockingham, H. E. Edridgo, J. J. North, C. W. Duncumb, C. Morris, Messrs. H. M. Smeeton, T. E. Toiieycliife, A'. Hoby, H. Ivory, A. F. Camy, A. S.- Adams. On the motion pjf tho Rev. R. H. K. Kempton it was resolved: "This conference commends with great urgency to the entire membership of our (tiiurchte the campaign which aims to secure the immediate national prohibition of tho liquor traffic." A special concert will be given tonight in tho Vivian Street Church. The solos and choruses will be selected from the compositions of Handel.
