{The monthly meeting of the Wairaipa and' East Coast P.-and A. Society as held at Carterton .on Saturday, jr. 0. Reid presiding. jThe treasurer reported that receipts nee last meeting had been £482 16a.,ie; balnce credit £1124 9s.- 6d. Aciunts amounting to £185 were, passed Ir payment. "It was reported that bnations this year would equal last par's,'and the last year and the year afore were the leading years. [Messrs. R. Charmley (Woodville) and irtles 'Te Awamutu) wrote, acceptingt>pointment as judges. . ;It was decided to accede to tho reiest of Mr. F. Holland for the transir of the lease of the Agricultural iall for picture purposes to Messrs. j. HaU and J. M'Kenzie. {Major G. P. Hutton, chief i'nstruc)r, Featherston Camp, wrote, suggestIg a musical ride by the mounted \en. . This would occupy about forty jinutes, and would be most interestis. ■ Mr. Booth reported he had :cepted the offer, and his action was ldorsed. - t (Mr. Booth further reported that the 1 Camp was anxious to send, up' a |uad of men to give a demonstration 'physical drill. This could be cared on during the musical ride, and quid' also prove' an attractive item. lie matter of putting this item on the rogramme was left to Mr. Booth. ■ jThe Railway Department wrote, stat!g .that special passenger trains buld run from-Mastertoii to Carterjn and vice versa on People's Day ! the show.
