A French Eastern communique states: "The Allies have continued to progress northwards. The Serbians came into contact south of Nish with big German forces, including Alpine corps units. After heavy fighting tho Serbians reached the river Toplitza, 9 miles south of Nisli, capturing three guns. French forces havo occupied I'rishtina, and advanced far beyond in. pursuit of tl.ie enemy fleeing towards Mitrovetza.
