A SUGGESTION

Sir,—l am a stranger to Wellington though not a stranger to New Zealand, having been here for over 25 Vears, and nil my children are New Zealand-bora. I think some restrictions should be Jiade re prospective members of Parliament, say, a residence here of at least 15 to 20. years being compulsory. But in my opinion preference, should always be given to our sons bred and born here. They have more right to the positions and salary attached, and they generally take a more broad-minded and less anarchist attitude than those brought up under less favourable conditions.—l am, etc., OTAGO.
