MR. MACK AND WELLINGTON CENTRAL
Sir, —In your issue of September 18 you publish a statement from the Christchurnh "Sun," given to that paper by Mr. R'. Hampton, piesidcnt of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, in which he stated that' a large deputation of members of trades unions waited on Mr. Mack, requesting him to stand as an Independent Labour candidate for Wellington Central, and stated that Mr! Mack would have the support of' tho Prohibition Party. So the cat is out of the bag. Mr. M'ai'k i-. standing for the Prohibition Party. Has not his bosom friend, Mr. Hampton, said so! I challenge Mr. Hampton or Air. Mack to publish any resolution from one branch of the A.S.R.S. asking him to stand as an Independent Labour candidate for Wellington Central. Further than this, I challenge him to nublish the names of the members of trades unions that, he alleges waited on Mr. Mack with a reouest that ho should stand for Labour.
