A little while ago Mrs. P. Isaacs, of The Terrace, on the occasion of the silver wedding of the King and Queen, wrote a letter of congratulation to Their Majesties upon the event, and speaking as one of the mothers in New Zealand who so creatly appreciated their kindness in taking so practical an interest in the welfare of New Zealand soldiers, whether in hospital or in the trenches, thanked Their Majesties for that interest and kindness. Mrs. Isaacs concluded her letter by hoping that they would celebrate their golden wedding under very much brighter conditions. Quito recently, to her very "■roat surprise Mrs. Ik.i.ics received a fetter from Queen Mary's private secretary, in which he stated that he had been commanded by the Queen to write and thank Mrs. Isaacs for her kind congratulations and good wishes.
