BOWLS
The 'fifth annual report of the New Zealand Bowling Association states that the number of centres affiliated to the association is seventeen, eight in the North Island and nine in the South. On account of two centres failing to send in returns, it is impossible to give definite figures, but it is. assumed that the total number of bowlers for the Dominion is 10,G84. This year's figures road 220 clubs, 10.68-1 members, as agninst last year's total of 215 clubs and 10.433 members. The credit balance at the bank at the opening of the year was £87 17s. 4d., and at the close it is £144 Is. 7d. The amount would have been much larger had all the centres paid their levies, but four have so far failed to do so. In addition to the £1581'18s. lid. raised in Dunedin at tournament time for patriotic purposes, other centres have assisted in the good work as follows: —Wellington. Centre, £831 10s. 3d.; South Auckland Centre. £251 3s. lOd.; Gore Club. £140 165.; Taranaki Centre, £123; Christchurch Contre, £56 10s.; South Canterbury Contre, £33 6s. Bd.
