LABOUR UNREST IN LONDON
TROUBLE BREWNG IN SEVERAL UNIONS. (Ree. September 9, 10.20 p.m.) London, September 8. In addition to the firemen, other public services display unrest. A meeting in London of the temporary postal workers to-day demanded extra pay. The National Executive will consider the demand a fortnight hence. The corporation workers in a number of the London areas have sent an ultimatum to their councils demanding extra wages or tlioy will strike on Friday. The Prison Officials' Union is_ claiming country-wide support for its demands for the .same pay as the police, and will seek an interview with the Premier this week. The wardresses simultaneously demand equal pay for equal work. _ . Women railway workers make the same demand. Sir Nevil Macready (Police Commissioner) oil Saturday conferred with the police representatives. The union officials complain that the union has been ignored.
