After being marooned for eleven weoka on Maiden Island the mariners were surprised to find the American schooner Aniiw Loreen piled up on the same reef, ine schooner's crew joined tho party, bringing much-needed supplies. The captain of the John Murray had already left in an endeavour to reach Fanning Island to obtain help. As no word arrived at the end of five days the chief officer left for Penrhyn Island. Nothing has been heard of either since When nicked up, the castaways had only Xgh food to last ten days.-Press
