ANNIVERSARY SERVICES
KENT TERRACE PRESBYTERIAN. SUNDAY SCHbOL. The anniversary services in the Kent Terrace Presbyterian Church were well attended yesterday, , the occasion being the thirty-first anniversary of the Sunday School. The church was tastefully decorated, and a large combined choir of children and adults, numbering some eighty voices, rendered a selection of .special anniversary hymns under the leadership of Mr. E. C. Jack. Jlr. Godier officiated at the organ and Miss Maclaurin at tho pianoforte. The morning service was conducted by the Rev. W. Day, of Kelburn, who spoke first to the children on the subject, "Children of Light," and to the congregation, taking for his text the. '
words, "Suffer Little Children," in which he emphasised the importance of home training in leading the little ones, to tli 2 Saviour.
In tlio afternoon Mr. A. Yarney, ot : tho Y.11.C.A., addressed the children, Bible classes, and parents, describing: in story the spirit of sacrifice and service shown hy the little French children behind the battle line, and also the self-sacrificing and sympathetic spirit, of the British Tommy.
In the evening the Rev. Dr. J. Kennedy Elliott conducted the service, preaching from John iv., "The nobleman saitli unto Him, Sir, come down, ero my child die." The offerings during the day, amounting to £24, were in aid of tlio work- of the Sunday School. Tlio anniversary will be further celebrated by a tea and entertainment on Tuesday evening in the schoolroom.
