WAIRARAPA V. WELLINGTON. The first of the series of three home-and-home inter-union matches will bo decided this afternoon, when Wellington meet Wairarapn after suffering defeat by the country union at Carterton last Saturday by 19 points to 5. That tho Wairarapv tear,; must be a good one is evidenced by the fact that there was no score at half-time, yet the home team won by 11 points, and the Wellington team was considered a very good one. A first-class game is expecte'd to eventuato to-day, as'the Wellingtonians aro very kee.r to avenge last week's defeat. Mr. S. H. Perkinson will ha referee. In the third class, championship there has been some of tho best football seen for years, and the semi-finals e.re being played this afternoon. Berhampore and Petone meet as a "curtain-raiser" to the representative match at the pari; at 1.30. Additional interest is lent to the match by the fact that the teams drew last Saturday. Mr. E.
