ENFORCING THE REGULATIONS.

The Hon. Arthur Myers, Minister' in charge of Munitions and Supplies, mentioned to ft representative of The Dominion that it had been recently reported to him that tho Petrol Regulations were, as regards price, not. being observed in 60iue cases by retailers; consequently tho matter was taken up by tho Department with tho secretary of tho Motor Garage Proprietors' Association of New Zealand, who is now cooperating by .assisting in making tin regulations uioro fully known to nil tlifl parties concorned. It may be of interest, to the publio to note that the prices which have been lixed by tho Board of Trado are the maximum prices which should be paid to retailers, anyone paying in excess of tho gazetted prices is therefore committing a breach of tho Petrol Regulations, lhe prices fixed by the Board of Trade are as follow, and only m cases where Clauso (16) applies can a charge be made at a rate higher than those gamtted. 1 his olauso provides that transporahon charges mav be added to the prices gazetted for the various ports it Auckland, Wellington.
