HERETAUNGA BOATING CLUB

The annual smoke concert of the Heretaunga Beating Club was held on Saturday evening at I'ctone. The chair was occupied by Mr. J. M'Dougall. commodore. The principal business of tho evening was tho -presentation of prizes won during the year, which wore as follow:—A Class, 18ft. c.b. 'boats, grand, aggregate ffilt'ord Cup and blue ribbon, -Mr. Aidred's Irex; A Class, 18ft. c.b. boats. Hartley Cup, Mr. Harry Head's Nautilus; crews' race, Mr, Blyth's Clip, Mr. Harry Head's Nautilus; A Class 1, agregate race, Mr. Anderson's trophy, Messrs. Boyd and Neill's Illinois; A Class, second aggregate, Mr. Head's Nautilus (ropiiy won by Mr. Aldrc-d's Itcx; A Class, third aggregate, Mr: Head's Irex trophy won by Irex; A Class,'fourth aggregate, Messrs. Boyd and Neill's.,lllinois trophy won by Mr. Head's Nautilus; A Class, fifth aggregate, Mr. Neill's trophy won by Mir. Head's Nautilus; A Class, champion pennant, won by Illinois; E Class, lift. evb. boats,'C'ommitlee's Challenge Cup, won by Mr. Colf[iihou,u's Gil Was, second prke to Committee's Challenge Cup, Mr. G. A. M'lJou•nld's troph.v, won by Messrs. Scolt and Holiday's Mahan; Thoriulon Dinghy Club's Cup. won by Mahau and Gil Bias, who lied, each to hold the prize for six months; first aggregate vice, Geisha and Gil Bias trophy won by Malum; second aggregate, Mr. Thornton's trophy, won by Gil Bias; third aggregate, Mr/Rowe's' lroph.v, won by Geisha; fourth aggregate, club trophy, won by Maliau;-fifth aggregate race, Mr. Blythe's trophy, won by Gil Mas; B Class, champion pennant, won by Gil Bias. The jirizes were presented 'by the Mayor (Mr J. W. M'Ewan), Songs were contribute;! by Messrs. Medhurst and Maud. Air. Head presided at the piano.
