GERMANS TRY TO ESCAPE FROM SAMOA
SEIZE A LAUNCH, BUT THE ENGINES BREAK DOWN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, August 19. Three Germans attempted to escapo from Samoa in a motor launch which they seized. Having impressed tlio services of three natives and laid in provisions, they put to sea,'it is believed with tho object of capturing a larger vessel. Tho engines broke down, and tho party had to land at Mulifanua. Tho Germans were arrested and taken to Apia, far trial.
