The Blackball Company's steamer Ngaliere, 1090 tons, Captain Dillner. when leaving for Greymouth this morning, rail on a sand bank at the entrance to the river, and was for a time in a position of some danger. A heavy sea and the wind carried the vessel broadside on across tho icoulh of the river, and there .was some risk of her crashing on to the breakwater. After a good deal of trouble the vessel was hauled round and moored to the breakwater, and later wits towed back to lier original berth. Captain Dillner states that, he has made a thorough examination of the interior of tlie vessel, and there is apparently no damage. The vessel will sail for Greymouth when the weather moderates.
