WAR HONOURS
NUMBER GAINED BY NEW ZEALANDE.ES. By Telegraph—Press Association. ' Auckland, July 9. Speaking at Helonsville, Sir .Tames Allen announced that lie had just received a letter from General Godley giving particulars of the honours gained by New Zealanders. They were as follow:—Victoria Cross, 5; D.5.0., 99; Bars, 5; D.C.M., 211; Bars, 2. Military Crosses, 307; Bars, i. Military Medals, 1195; Bars, 29. Meritorious Service, 35. Mentioned in dispatches, 925. Recommended to the Secretary of State for War, 117. • The awards to women were: Royal Red Cross, first class, 7; second class, 34.
