The Canadian Premier, bir Kobei't Borden, aunuunced m the Dominion House of Coiimioiis recently that the Government had passed an Ordor-m-C'ouncil addressed to the Imperial <-tovermnent refluesting that no further hereditary titles should be created in Unada 'and also that ii time liniu should' he placed upon the effectiveness of those already granted. . Mr. Hichardson, the member lorbprmgfiold (Manitoba), moved a resolution urging the total abolition ot titles throughout Canada. ~ , , r t Air. \ickle read a dispatch from London indicating that Sir Robert Borden had been asked to prepare a list of those- who had been suggested for titles. Sir Robert Borden, interposing, said: "The Prime Minister was asked to prepare a list, but found other engagements which made it impossible for him to givo it any consideration." After some discussion, Sir Robert Borden stated that the Dominion Premiers would consider tho whole question at tho Imperial Conference in London. Sir Wilfrid Laurier expressed opposition to the whole system of hereditary ! titles, and declared that he was willing to take his title into the market place and bum it on a bonfire, if it could be done without disrespect to tho Crown.— Hcutcr.
