t Sir,—ln your report of the Bishop's s speech with regard to the work of the , Wellington Cathedral Committee there is t a mistake which jives quite a different 1 impression from that intended. Speaking I of St. Paul's Church the Bishop said - that whereas that building had been t originally intended as a parish church : primarily, and is still such, but to be [ used also as a cathedral, the proposed Wellington Cathedral was to bo such, primarily, but to be used also, as a ; parish ennrch. By substituting the word I "formerly" for .primarily" your re. r porter missed the point altogether. And again in njiother passage clearness has [ been somewhat sacrificed to brevity. 3 With regard 'to the. creation of a 3 "cathedral district" the Bishop explained that, by its new reading of a.n old Act, the General Synod of 1916 had ini advertently limited, for the. first time, the power'of anv diocese in New Zealand ' to create any other kind of district than 1 that of parish or parochial district, and j he signified his intention accordingly of } bringing up tho queston in the General Synod next year.—l am. etc., ; ' ONE OP THE AUDIENCE,
