Despite the sparcily of shipping in port there was u good attendance at (he concert at (ho Sailors' Friend Society on Tuesday night. 'I'lie hostesses were the Jlisses D. nn.l M. Clark, who provided a most enjoyable programme. The missioner (Mr. J. Moore) presided, and welcomed the guests. Tlie proceedings opened with a chorus which was much <t|iprecinted. Solos, duels, etc., followed, Cue performers being the Misses I), and JL Clark, Jlessrs. 0. JPDonald. Jl. Gil--111011I:, W. R. Millier, and Campbell. Numbers of conundrums added to (lis evening's entertainment, Ihe prizes coming from Thorndon. Jlr. Moore would bo grateful for gifts of books for the voyages before Ihe men.
