Ecardqn, wero ndjourned until the September sitting of the board, tho arrangement being that all similar cases would then have been considered. An appeal by the Gear Company for Gilbert L. Taylor was treated likewise

Archie Rinprose appealed for an extension of time for domestic reasons, and was granted leave until November i. Leave until August 11 was granted to Fletcher Reilly, a voluntary recruit, to enable him to dispose of his cabinetmaking business. . Leave until September It was granted to Morris Blaxall, jeweller, of Petone, for domestic reasons, Alfred James Sanders, gardener, asked for three months' extension of time for domestic reasons. The application was dismissed, and appellant was ordered to camp on October 9. Louis Bartosh, market gardener, Lower Hutt, was given leave until August U.John Henry Taylor, storeman, Lyall Bay, was given leave until October 9, the application being made for family reasons. ' '~,.' Tho case of William Telford, dairy farmer, Miramar, was adjourned until the September sittings of tho board. Bennett Tracy and Michael I. Tracy, brothers, who are bootmakers, applied for leave for business reasons. Leave until October 9 was granted. Mr. D. if. Findlay appeared to support the' appeal of William C. Hardwick, fruiterer, of Hataitai. It was said that the business was so large that the wifo could not carry it on, and tho trade would fall into the hands of Chinese. The board snid that they would not wish to leave the trade in the hands of Chinese, but thought that tho patriotism of the Hataitai people ought to be eufficient to make them purchase goods from the wife -,of a soldier. The case was adjourned until the September meeting of the board. David A. L. Clark, appealed for by his employers, was said to be an essential irorker in the supply of dental requisites for tho camps and other places. Mr. H. E. Evans appeared for the appellant. The board adjourned further hearing of the case until September. Mr. H. E. Evans appeared to support tho appeals of tho following officers, of tho Salvation Army, sine die exemptions being granted in all cases:—Ensign Jacob P. M. BsJlo, Major Page, Ensign Clarke, Adjutant H. Smith (Rotorua). In the case of Albert Edward' Walker, joiner, Mr. D. M. Pindlay appeared for the appellant, who, it was stated,' was engaged in making and repairing bodies nf tramcars, and employed by the AVellington City Council. Domestic affairs were the reasons of the appeal, which was lor an extension of time. The case was udjourned until October.

The appeal of Alwyn Edward James Gell, plumber, of AVollingtoii, was dismissed, leave being given until the Soptember draft.

The case of David Alexander L. Clark, salesman, of Newtown, was adjourned until tho first meeting of tho board in September..
