ASPIRATIONS ENDORSED. London, July 2. M. Pichon (Minister of Foreign Affairs) has written to the secretary of tho National Czech's Council stating that, "faithful to tho principles of respect for nationalities and tho liberaUon of oppressed peoples, the French Govcrnj ment considers tho claims of tho l.'zechoi Slav nations well founded, and will ap- ; ply itself when tho timo compe to uphold ; fiheir aspirations for independence in tho historic limits of their provinces, which will be- Ijborated at length from the yoko of the Austro-Hungarian oppressor." M. Pichon has written to Mr. A. J. Balfour in similar terms. Mr. Balfour replied fully associating the British Government with the sentiments of tho French Government regarding tho Czecho-Slavs.—Reuter.
