A SHIPPING DIFFICULTY. London, July 2. • British and Australian merchants have takwi up the question of demnrrago , I charges, duo to tlio alteration of steam--lor fixtures. ■ They complain that after the fixtures are made, tonnage allotted, and the goods sent forward, the fixtures are frequently cancelled, owing lo the diversion of the steamer to more important duties, and heavy demurrage occurred on the goods awaiting shipment. Hitherto there has been no. redress.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Aesn.
