In reference to the meeting in Wellington convened to discuss matters relating to the Government's requisition- • ing of wool, and also to the resolution passed in connection therewith by the Hawke's Bay Sheepowners' Union. Mr. George Gould, chairman of the Cnnler- ■ bury Woolgrowers' Committee, has telegraphed to the Hon. \V. D. S. MacDonh!d, Minister, of Agriculture, stating that the Canterbury Committee was of , opinion that the present basis of the ' wool purchase by the- Imperial Government should be adhered'to.
