PENSIONS
Sir,—Now '.hat Sir James Allen has provided so splendidly for the wives and children of tho Second Division it behoves tho men now to step out and do their duty to their country and homes. It is to -be hoped that as many men in the Government Service as can (et away will go. None of their positions need stand in the way, only their health, and that can be given a fair trial in camp, for the object is worth it. If they die in' the positions they now hold they know the fate tlat awaits their wives and children re pensions, viz., .£lB a year for-the widow and ss. a week! for the child up to 14' years of age. Compare this with the pension they will get it the man goes forth. I sincerely hope they will all bo up and doing.—l am, gtc " SUPERANNUATED WIDOW.
