A few months ago the question of the further education and training of our troops was taken in hand by the Administration in England and by tho Command in France. While much might be possible in England, it was realised that war difficulties stood in tho way of arranging any comprehensive scheme which might bo applicable at tho front. Nevertheless, it was thought that something might bo accomplished, even in France. A board was appointed to givo tho matter careful consideration, and .subsequently an education vl officer took a census of tho requirements of officers and men throughout tho whole division. , The result showed that a total of 14,000 required instruction. In All 190 subjects wero mentioned in tho return, and of these thirty subjects account for 75 per cent, of the total figures.
