CONDITIONS AGREED UPON,

The filial scheme approved was-.-The Government to be asked to commission a merchant sailing ship as a training ship, to bo named the "~\V. E. Sanders," to be employed in freighting cargo from and to Mew Zealand, the vessel to carry as rpprentices Now Zealand lads of British uarentaee desirouH 'of entering the merchant sen-ice as officers, places l;o I>p retained for Sanders Memorial Scholarship boys, and to he increased in accordance with the state of the fund. The "mount available for scholarships is to be invested by the trustees until the arrangements for the proposed training ship are completed. •Tn the event of this not being done within two voars lifter the declaration of peace, the (rus-tee-i are to be authorised to apply the money subscribed for advancement in the mercaniile murine of New Zealand-born hoys of British parentage. The accepted scheme also provided for scholarship examinations to he held annually, and to be available to all New Zealand-born boys of British parentage.
