Thero was a sense ' of detachment from tluVwar on tho part of Dominions distant from the roar of the guns and aeroplane attacks, and therefore it was tho duty of the Press representatives to interpret the situation here and let their people know: tho determination with which tho English 'werS ' using'their resources. Britain had-con- j tributed by taxation' 27 per cent, of the ' war expenditure. Ho hoped tho people overseas would devote everything to tho conflict, lost Britain should be overcome by an insidious enemy.
