PROMOTIONS AND APPOINTMENTS
The appointments, promotions, and resignations of the undermentioned officers of tho Territorial I'orco liavo been approved ;— .Appointments. The undermentioned are appointed members of a Special District Medical lioard, with pay of lieutenant-colonel at Expeditionary i'orco rates whilst so employed (dated April 21, li)18):-Major Frederick Cameron, M.8., N.Z. Medical Corps (X.Z.TS.I' , .). Captain (temporary Major) John Keslell Thomas, M.8., X.Z. Medical Corps, and retains the- temporary rank of major whilst so employed. Captain Philip Shinier I'oster, VMC.a., Erg., N.Z. Medical Corps. Captain. Charles Henry Wheeler, ALT)., 1n. , ., NX Medical Corps (Keserve of Ulli-oer-i). Tin 1 undermentioned are appointed members of a Special District Medical Board, dated April 30, 1918:—CapUin Frank Lockwood Atkinson, M.8., N.Z. Medical Corps. Lieutenant (temporary Captain) Leonard Hugh Booth, M.8., N.Z. Medical Corps, and retains the temporary rank of captain whilst so employed. 2nd Lieutenant Patrick Gilbert Forde. Unattached List (b), General List, is appointed an attesting officer under the Military Service Act, 191G (dated April 2(i, 1018). Promotions ami Resignations. Queen Alexandra's 2nd (Wellington-West Coast) Mounted Rifles. Captain William Richard Foley, M.C., is struck olf the strength of the- X.Z.E.i'. with effect, from June 1. 1918, and is absorbed into tlio regiment with his original rank and seniority therein, viz., lieutenant, ns from March 5, 1917 (vido N.Z. Gazette, No. 52, of March 22, 1017). Dili (Wellington-East Coast) Mounted Hides. x Captain Xoel Gordon (Irani is struck oil" tho rtrength of the N.Z.E.P., with effect from June I,' 1918, and is absorbed inlo the regiment with his original rank zi.iid seniority therein, via., lieutenant, as from March 2(, 1916 (vide N.Z. Gazetto, No. -17, of April 20, 1918). jS'ew Zealand Forces Motor Service Corps. Motor-car Section. Canterbury. Lieutenant David M'Millan resigns his commission (dated May 2, 1318). New Zealand Medical Corps. Major Ilenrv Ferdinand Bermiu, M.R.C.S. (N.Z.il.r.), is granted tho Iwnuorarr rank of lieutenant-colonel ,ibiist doing special duty in New Zealand (dated March 20, 1918). Captain William Ncwlnnds, IMi.C.S., lidin., to b« major (dated April 3, MS). Major Georgo l'earco Baldwin, f/.H.C:!'., Edin., appointed a member ot a Special District Medical Board on March 1, 1917, receives the pay of lieu-tenant-colonol at Expeditionary Force mtes, with effect from April 21, 1918, whilst so acting.

Daniel Dnttnn, Chaplain to (he Forces, 2nd Class, retires under the provisions of paragraphs 12fi and 127, General Eegulations, 1913 (dated May 10, 1918). New Zealand Army Nursing Service. Alice Mary Hinds Howeil, to be masseuse (dated January 1, 1918). Unattached List (b). Lieutenant William John Melville is struck off the strength of the N.Z.8.1 , '., with effect from June 7, 1918, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority, viz., lieutenant, as from January 7, 1917 (vide N.Z. Gazette, No. 141, of September 13, 1917). 2nd Lieutenant Harold Herbert Parkinson is struck off the strength of the N.Z.E.F., with effect from June 1, 191S, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority, viz., lieutenant, as from February 15, 1917 (vide N.Z. Gazet:r, No. 52, of March 22, 1917). The undermentioned to be 2nd lieutenants (dated May 7, 1918):—Conipanv-Ser-goant-Major Neil Paterson Manning. Company-Sergeant-Major Robert Desmond /Isles, Company-Sersreant-Major Charles Arnold Lawn, Company-Ser-geant-Mnjor Colin Brereton Marshall. William Montgomery Stewart, to ho 2nd lieutenant (temporary), dated May 7, 1018. Unattached List (b), Gpneral List. 2nd Lieutenant Leonard Frederick Cooper is struck off the strength of the N.Z.E.F., with effect from June 1, 1918, ami is posted with his original rank and seniority, viz., 2nd lieutenant, as from I September 21, 1917.
