The Hon. W. 1). t>. llacDoiiisld, Minister of Agriculture, left for the south on Dej.'aiimental business on Saturday. The Hon. D. H. Outline, Minister of Lands, leaves to-day on an extended tour of tho Auckland district. Ho is to open a new fertiliser works at Auckland, and then lie will go into .the Waikato district, visiting f.oldiers' settlements in that district and eastward of Tauranga. Ho expects to return lo Wellington about tho middle of next mouth. Colonel Kalpli A. ChalTey, V.D., Officer Commanding the Canterbury Military District, has been appointed lo tho position of hon. A.D.C. lo the GovernorGeneral. Colonel V. S. Smyth has relinquished the appointment on transfer to i tho British Army. A unanimous call to the Kolburn Presbyterian Church lias been given to the Hev. Win, .Day, of Wliangarci. It is expected that Mr. Day will accept tho call and commence, his ministry at Kelburn at tho end of June as successor to the lU'v.A.C.W.Stindage.il.A., who is now stationed at Fairlie.. The. Professorial Board of Canterbury College, have elected Professors Chilton, (.iabbalt, Hight, Palmond, and Wall, and Ike Professorial Board of tlin Auckland University CoHckb havo elected Professors Deltmann, Ewi'ton, .fohnson, Segur, and Maxwell Walker lo represent their respective colleges on the Board of Studies of the University of New Zealand. Advice lias been received (hat Lieutenant 1!. G. MacGibboii. Eoyal Engineers, lias recovered from his wounds 'and returned to the front. Lieutenant MacGibbon is a son of the Hon. T. MaeGibbon, of Gore, and a brother of Dr. T. A. MucGibboii, of Christchurcli. . Ex-Constable David Lloyd, who • has been stationed at Lyttelton. for three, years and a half, and resigned lo ioin the Expeditionary Force, was last week presonted with a well-filled wallet of bank notes by his friends at Hie port. Cabinet has decided to accept the recommendation of the Returned Soldiers' Association that Mr. Wilfred. G. Morneth, a returned soldier, be appointed to the vacancy on the Financial Assistauce Board caused by the retirement of Mr. C. W. Chilman. There is already on the board a representative of tho Second Division League, Mr. A. S. Mitchell, consulting engineer, of Wellington.
