CASE FOR PROSECUTION CLOSED,
Paris, May 7. Tho case for the proeecution against tho "Bonnet Rouge" has closed. It is expected thnt at least a hundred witnesses will bo called for the dofenco. SI. Marchand, ihterpretor, gavo evidence that tho German Press Bureau spent 12J millions sterling in two yeare upon a journalistic offensive, particularly in Switzerland and Denmark, from which countries a campaign was ongincored with disastrous results in Italy ond Russia. M. Marohand addod that between May, 11)16, and August, 1917, ,i hundred articles from the "Bonnet Rouge" were republished in the infamous "Gazette des Jardines," published by Germany to undermine the morale of tho Frenoh in the ocoupied districts. —Aus.« N.Z.
