A BRAVE IRISH GIRL
ATOIED RAIDERS' ATTACK ON GALWAY FARMHOUSE.
Tho latest story of a raid for arms in Ireland gives thrilling details of tho heroism of a County Galway farmer's daughter, who held up a disguised armed party single-handed until her father camo to tho rescue and dispersed them with fihote from his double-barrelled fowiingpicco. About eight o'olojk in tho evening, Miss ITinucano was working in her kitcheu at Dnras Kinvaru, whilst her father, a noted shot, was reading in an adjoining room. A knock came to tho hall door, and two of several masked men rushed insido and covered the girl with a revolver. Sho barred thoir entry, and n scufflo ensued, during which one of tho men discharged a shot, which went wide. The girl seized a long broom with which sho belaboured tho intrudors, aud hearing tho mcleq, the father loaded his gun, and, placing a reserve of cartridges in his pocket, ho dashed to the door, whoreupon tho raiders decamped. Pursuing them for a considerable distance, ho diecharged five shots aftor them, and it is stated that ouo of tho raiders has been wounded.
