They had about seven drinks each in the. afternoon. They were not drunk, but were slighllv under Hio influence: of liquor. Between 8 ami II p.m. witness left Lindstriim for about ten minutes, and when witness came back to deceased lie said: ".[ want to so across the street to see a mate." Lindstriim fhen started to hum- across tho street, and did not look to see if any trams were coming along.' Ho was caught by a tram and. knocked down. L'.ndstrum had the same ■ number of drinks as witness, and was under the influence of liquor. Witness did not hear the gong sounded, but it. might have been sounded: lie. did not take jiolicg of it. Johansu and witness remained with Lindstrum until lie was taken away m the ambulance to the Hospital.
