A UNITED FRONT TO THE ENEMY. Although we are all lrighttully anxious about what-is happening at the front, we feel quite ocriaiin there is no doubt about the result,. We have got to set our teeth and see it through. I know the difficulties, that the leaders of this country have U) face, and 1 want you to support them through thick and thin until vie tory is won." The Prime Minister also referred! briefly to the war. ''The end of tiia war is not yet iii sight," he said.. "We have to fight on, and still to> work for tho welfare of tho boys at the front. When the great battle commenced fourteen days ago there were rumours of industrial trouble in> Britain But directly it appeared that the Empire itself was in danger, directly it was realised that the. armies of the Allies had suffered certain roverses to which we cannot shut cur eyes, the people of the Empire dropped all differences, and joined in presenting a united front :o the enemy. (Applause.) Lot us hope that the citizens of Now Zealand will Iβ able to follow the example of the people of the United Kingdom, and set aside local differences unt'il the end of tho war comes."
