TOTAL OF 1*31,301. A summary of the cMualties in. the A.I.F. up to March W last, supplied by the military authoiufciles, shows that tho total casualties, amounted to 231 301. This total is. made up as follows:—Deceased 43,3! 19, missing 736, prisoners of war 2944); wounded, 116,146; sick, 67,932; and "casualty not specified" 214. In the case of the wioimded and sick, the figures represent lh«s totals reported by cablegram, and a re in excess of the actual mimbenof imm affected, because many are admit! ted to hospital more than once.
